People of the world, here is Silent Civilian. The latest effort from guitarist/vocalist Jonny Santos, formerly of the Grammy nominated (Spineshank), Silent Civilians promises a breath of fresh air in the stagnant world of heavy music.

"We live in a world that is in serious trouble" says Santos "We need to start making a positive difference in the lives of our children and our brothers and sisters in the world. Too many people aren't speaking out against issues that directly affect them. They have a voice, but don't think that it makes a difference. They need to know that it does."

Not claiming to be a highly political band such as RATM or SOAD, Silent Civilians feel they need to address other issues of living as well as politics, such as education, disease, human rights, animal rights, and emotional stability in the minds of our youth.

This is not a conventional modern rock band, nor do they claim to be.

Instead of seeking out a major label (see,fark mainstream!), this renewed DIY ethos led the band to an alliance with up and coming independent powerhouse, Corporate Punishment Records, allowing them ultimate creativity without pressure to write "hits".

Earlier this year, Kazakhstani Kopite Rene Khamitov made it his mission to hike across the world's deepest lake - Lake Baikal - while frozen, with only a Liverpool decorated sleigh and a Reds scarf for company.

"The air temperature was -30°C inside my tent sometimes.

"I didn't use a compass for my journey, just a map, and I only had some very simple outer clothing, including a Liverpool scarf.

"You know, when you are alone, you can be happy and you can listen to everything around - you can hear your soul.

"Every night I listened to the breathing of the lake, the ice cracking, the wailing of the wind and the wolves.

"But I wasn't alone, because my heart was with nature and with Liverpool FC!"

"I have dreamt about travel all my life and I can now realise my boyhood dreams.

"But right now I want to dedicate this trip to Liverpool FC and to Reds all over the world, as well as the 96 fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough.
